In its two-year journey, IntelliSmart has rapidly grown to become the leading smart meter solution provider in India. As a testament to its unique business model and robust solution, IntelliSmart has gone on to win country’s first smart meter tender floated on DBFOOT arrangement. Our contribution to the adoption of the TOTEX model and the development of the Standard Bidding Document have been substantial. Our track record of winning and executing projects remain unmatched.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure

IntelliSmart provides end-to-end Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system architecture/solutions. The AMI system is based on the development and enablement of a common and scalable solution that assists Discoms in the areas of data collection, optimisation of operations and improvement of performance transparency. The end-to-end implementation of AMI system includes the deployment of smart meters, communication technology, Head End System (HES), Meter Data Management (MDM) and mobile applications. The AMI system connects smart meters with the legacy system of the Discoms which allows the latter to innovate and extend value-added services to consumers in real time and create substantial advantage in optimisation of load management and efficient billing.

On-Ground Implementation of Smart Metering Systems

IntelliSmart is enabling the implementation of smart meters through the BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, Transfer) model. Under this model, IntelliSmart undertakes all activities viz. installation, ownership, operation, meeting the SLAs (Service Level Agreements) during the contract period and transfer of the entire AMI system to the Discoms at the end of the tenure.

Smart metering system provides a plethora of advantages such as:

  • Help make DISCOMs agile by offering lead indicators on demand and mitigating the need for manual checking.
  • Enable auto collection of meters read over the air, reducing the need for manual intervention, remote connect/disconnect as per the state utility guidelines.
  • Offer consumers a seamless online billing process, digital payment of bills and real-time usage information.
  • Support reduction of billing errors.
  • Help consumers track their consumption patterns and adopt more energy-efficient behaviours through optimised utilisation of appliances.
